FHE- Cupcake Edition

For Family Home Evening last night we had a fabulous lesson about loving thy neighbor and then we made CUPCAKES!!!

Greg doesn't know how to make so I taught him all there is to know about my fabulo-mixer and the art of cupcake making. He made peanut butter and jelly cupcakes, Momma made strawberry with strawberry and I finished the batches the next day with some banana cupcakes with caramel frosting which Momma helped make. It was so fun to be with the actual fam for FHE instead of just being with friends and we had so much fun bonding over these sweet treats!

Momma making homemade caramel...
...and enjoying it!!
The cupcakes I pre-made...all 8 dozen!!
Greg's first try at the mixer
Checking to make sure he is doing it right!
Teaching Greg what the mixer attachements are...he though the hook was to scratch/open things...silly boy
Frosting lesson
Finished product! He did so well!
Enjoying the finished product!
Do they look like the pictures?
Momma stealing some of Greg's masterpiecesThis picture needs some explaining. I baked till 1 am the day before to get everything ready for FHE and then the next day we were mixing until midnight. Apparently my neighbors can hear and they banged on the wall and called security on us! We finished our cupcakes under a towel in the bathroom on the carpet floor to muffle the noise and fresh off our "love thy neighbor" lesson we decided to leave a nice apology note and some cupcakes in the morning...and I am happy to say all was forgiven :)

Momma's finished treats!

Hurrah for a delicious FHE with my actual fam!
