The Las Vegas Half Marathon

I ran my first half maraton!!!

It was in Las Vegas so I got to see everyone when I went home. We woke up at 6 am and the starting line was so inspiring. There were 20,000 people running and the whole strip was shut down. All of the neon signs said things about the marathoners and there were fireworks and the song Viva Las Vegas were playing. With all that support it easily got me through the first 6 miles and I was able to continue running through the last 7 miles with a time of 2 hrs and 13 minutes...45 min better than I thought I would do!!!

My family came to support me and since I was running so much faster than I expected, they missed me at the start (they couldn't find me) and the halfway point but made it just in time for my finish. I felt so loved and supported.

It was so fantastic and I can't wait to run San Francisco in February!
